Yerba mate Rio Parana is made according to a method developed hundreds of years ago. Hand-picked holly leaves and twigs are subjected to drying using hot air. They are left to mature for months, acquiring their unique character, before being crushed into smaller pieces. Medium-sized leaves, twigs and dust are added to the package. The dried leaves are combined with water to create a delicious and aromatic infusion that stirs the palate and the senses, providing a dose of caffeine. As befits traditional yerba mate, the taste has bitter, but mild enough not to discourage new yerba mate drinkers, while delighting those who are already very familiar with the taste of Paraguayan holly.
