80% arabica 20% robusta whole bean coffee – Bro Coffee Roastery Crema Rumba 🌰
Bro Coffee Roastery Crema Rumba is a smooth, sweet blend in which arabica clearly takes the lead. It is made of 80% single origin arabica from Brazil and 20% robusta from Vietnam, graded Fine Robusta Grade 1. The small share of robusta does not dominate the flavour, but it noticeably enriches the brew – giving it a thicker crema, a creamier texture and a little more energy.
The beans are roasted at Bro Coffee Roastery to a medium / omniroast level. This versatile roast brings out sweetness and a rounded flavour, while letting you brew the coffee in many ways – although it performs best in an espresso machine, a moka pot and in milk-based drinks.
The flavour profile is built on hazelnut, milk chocolate and cocoa. Acidity is low, the body is medium to full and creamy, and the crema is thick, rich and aromatic. Just like in a rumba, Crema Rumba is all about fluid movement and an easy rhythm: approachable and smooth, yet never lacking in character.
Arabica meets robusta – the best of both worlds 🤝
What makes a blend so good? Arabica and robusta are the two most important coffee species, and they complement each other perfectly. Arabica brings sweetness, a rich aroma and complexity. Robusta (Coffea canephora) adds a bold, full body, a thick, lasting crema, a pleasant bitterness reminiscent of dark chocolate and cocoa, and a stronger caffeine kick – on average, it contains roughly twice as much caffeine as arabica. Blends like this have been the foundation of many traditional Italian espressos for decades.
The creators of the Bro Coffee Roastery brand balance the proportions with artisanal precision. Crema Rumba combines 80% single origin arabica scoring 83-84 points on the SCA scale with 20% Fine Robusta Grade 1 robusta. What does this mean in practice? A brew where the sweetness and aroma of arabica meet the strength and crema of robusta – intense, yet smooth and well balanced. Perfect for espresso and milk-based drinks.
