Bro Coffee Roastery Uganda Kanyenye Speciality – Ugandan arabica with a hint of fig 🌿

Bro Coffee Roastery Uganda Kanyenye Speciality comes as whole beans from the area around Kanyenye in Uganda's Buikwe district, which lies between Kampala and the town of Jinja. The farms sit at an altitude of 1200 masl, close to Lake Victoria, in a region with a warm climate and regular rainfall. The coffee is a single variety, SL28, and a score of 83 pts on the SCA scale puts it in the speciality category.

The cherries are picked by hand and then go through washed processing: once the pulp has been removed, the beans ferment briefly and are dried in the sun. Bro Coffee Roastery roasts them medium light (3/5) – a level that preserves the fruity sweetness and develops the cocoa tones.

In the cup, Uganda Kanyenye brings together fig, walnut and cocoa. It is a balanced coffee with a dessert-like character that shines as espresso and is just as enjoyable from a pour-over dripper.

❓ FAQ – frequently asked questions about Bro Coffee Roastery Uganda Kanyenye Speciality coffee

1. What does Uganda Kanyenye taste like?

It has a sweet, dessert-like profile in which a fruity fig note meets walnut and cocoa. Thanks to washed processing, each of these notes is easy to pick out and they stay well balanced.

2. Is Uganda Kanyenye good with milk?

Yes. Cocoa and walnut pair nicely with milk, so the coffee works in a cappuccino, flat white or latte. If you want to taste the fruity fig, though, drink it black – as an espresso or a drip brew.

3. How do I make espresso with Uganda Kanyenye?

Dose about 18 g of finely ground coffee into the portafilter, tamp it evenly and pull about 36-40 g of espresso in 25-30 seconds, with water at 92-94°C. If the shot tastes too sour, grind finer; if it tastes too bitter, grind slightly coarser.
