Bro Coffee Roastery Uganda Kanyenye Speciality – Ugandan arabica with a hint of fig 🌿
Bro Coffee Roastery Uganda Kanyenye Speciality comes as whole beans from the area around Kanyenye in Uganda's Buikwe district, which lies between Kampala and the town of Jinja. The farms sit at an altitude of 1200 masl, close to Lake Victoria, in a region with a warm climate and regular rainfall. The coffee is a single variety, SL28, and a score of 83 pts on the SCA scale puts it in the speciality category.
The cherries are picked by hand and then go through washed processing: once the pulp has been removed, the beans ferment briefly and are dried in the sun. Bro Coffee Roastery roasts them medium light (3/5) – a level that preserves the fruity sweetness and develops the cocoa tones.
In the cup, Uganda Kanyenye brings together fig, walnut and cocoa. It is a balanced coffee with a dessert-like character that shines as espresso and is just as enjoyable from a pour-over dripper.
Quality confirmed by the SCA score 🏆
What is the SCA scale? It is a globally recognised bean quality grading system, developed by the Specialty Coffee Association. Qualified experts subject the coffee to rigorous tests, evaluating its key parameters on a 100-point scale – from aroma and acidity, all the way to balance and sweetness. Exceeding the 80-point threshold guarantees that we are dealing with outstanding beans, free from any defects.
