Bro Coffee Roastery Amico dall'Italia Espresso Roast – arabica roasted in the Italian espresso style 🔥

Bro Coffee Roastery Amico dall'Italia Espresso Roast is whole bean coffee created for lovers of classic Italian espresso. The beans come from Brazil – from around Guaxupé in the state of Minas Gerais – and are a combination of the Yellow Bourbon, Mundo Novo and Obatã varieties, grown at an altitude of 800-1000 masl. After harvesting, they underwent natural processing, meaning the whole coffee cherries were dried, which gives the beans a natural sweetness and a fuller flavour.

What sets this coffee apart is its roast level. The beans are roasted to a medium (4/5) level – darker than most coffees in the Bro Coffee Roastery range. This roast deepens the aroma, strengthens the body and brings out the refined bitterness expected of a good espresso, without masking the bean's natural notes.

In the cup, Amico dall'Italia combines milk chocolate and hazelnuts with a distinct hint of orange. The body is heavy and full, the acidity medium-high and the finish gently sweet. In an espresso machine, the coffee produces an intense espresso with a thick crema, and combined with milk – a velvety cappuccino and latte. ☕

Quality confirmed by the SCA score 🏆

What is the SCA scale? It is a globally recognised bean quality grading system, developed by the Specialty Coffee Association. Qualified experts subject the coffee to rigorous tests, evaluating its key parameters on a 100-point scale – from aroma and acidity, all the way to balance and sweetness. Exceeding the 80-point threshold guarantees that we are dealing with outstanding beans, free from any defects.

The creators of the Bro Coffee Roastery brand focus on uncompromising quality and artisanal precision. Every single bean undergoes rigorous selection, as evidenced by an impressive score of 82 points on the SCA scale. This proudly classifies this coffee within the elite group of speciality quality. What does this mean in practice? By choosing this product, you can be certain that your cup will be filled with a brew boasting a flawless, rich sensory profile and a clean taste, with absolutely no room for defects. It is a quality that every true coffee lover will appreciate!

❓ FAQ – frequently asked questions about Bro Coffee Roastery Amico dall'Italia Espresso Roast coffee

1. Is Amico dall'Italia coffee very bitter?

No. The medium (4/5) roast is darker than that of most speciality coffees, so the bitterness is more pronounced, but still pleasant and balanced – this is not a dark roast. The bitterness is accompanied by notes of milk chocolate and hazelnuts, while orange adds freshness. If your espresso turns out too bitter, try a slightly coarser grind or a shorter extraction time.

2. Can Amico dall'Italia be brewed using pour-over methods?

It can, although this coffee was created primarily with espresso in mind. In drip or a filter coffee machine, it produces a rich, chocolatey brew with more pronounced bitterness than lighter-roasted coffees. If you mainly drink pour-over and are looking for fruitier notes, a coffee with a lighter roast will suit you better.

3. Does this coffee go well with plant-based milk?

Yes. Its full body and distinctive chocolate and hazelnut profile mean the espresso does not get lost in either cow's milk or plant-based drinks – it pairs particularly well with oat milk, which brings out the nutty notes. It is a good choice for a latte or flat white made with plant-based milk.
